Now more than ever, we are seeing the correlation between developed oral language skills and the ability of our students to respond to the text as well as create their own.  In this session, participants will explore the scientific connection between oral language and reading comprehension.  They will develop a fuller understanding of things a teacher can do to develop oral language in a student in order for them to be able to more fully participate in comprehension conversations.  Finally, the participants will view useful structures and activities to support conversation in their classrooms.
